Crafty Goodness

A few weeks ago I had a stall at the Burrinja Cultural Centres open day, as part of the event they had a "Children's Market" in the grounds.

Danielle was going with her handmade baby blocks, hats, and mixed media canvas', which are totally awesome by the way, and was taking some of Kate's clips to sell. She offered to take some things for me, but after thinking about it, I decided to go as well.

I made some cute little softies and childrens canvas' and some notebooks and cards. I wanted to get an idea of what to make for my etsy shop and so was curious to see what items people were interested in, what would sell and what feedback I might get.

I also thought it would be a good way to sell some of Bodie's clothes and toys that he has grown out of......I only sold one top and a couple of toys......but was thrilled with the response to my handmade items - they all sold and I was given some great ideas as to other items people would love to see and buy. So I am now busy creating and planning and working on some new creations.

I'm thinking about doing the baby and childrens market they have in Berwick once a month as well as my etsy shop, but will see how I go. Am hoping to get busy on all my ideas when I get back from holiday.

Some pictures of my handmade goodies from the market that Danielle took for me, unfortunatley I'd already sold a few, my own fault though, I'd planned to take some, but then forgot, so glad Dan did, now I can remember what I made.

.......only five more sleeps, then a week of bliss by the beach. Yay!!

toot-toot

Two weekends ago we went on Puffing Billy, we knew Bodie would love it since he is obsessed with toot-toots. To say he was excited would be an understatement, he could barely keep still.

On the trip his little head would whip around so fast trying to watch and see everything. In between his excited laughs, squeals of delight and endless train sounds which lasted the whole trip.....and back again!! he was telling everyone on the carriage they were on a toot-toot- (just incase they didn't know =O) )

I took heaps of photos and lots and lots of video footage of the trains and the trip for him to watch later and eventually I will make him a special photo book with the hundreds of photos on my camera. (and just incase I didn't get enough, Daddy went and took a gazillion as well)

Sitting on the window ledge

hitching a ride on Daddy's shoulders as we walked around Emerald lake park

And it also turned out be a day with Thomas, so Bodie got to see some of his favourites, especially Dedal (translated means Diesal) at Emerald station.

Pulling in to Belgrave station, my tired and gorgeous boy

Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend.

Extra big hugs and lots of love for Doreen, we hope you are recovering well.

Tulip festival

A couple of weekends ago we went to the tulip festival. Last year we went with during the week with Kell, Dan, Kate, Paula and all the kids, but this year Nath wanted to take us, so we went on Sunday afternoon and oh my goodness the crowd was horrendous! If we go next year it will be during the week.

Bodie's interest in the flowers lasted maybe ten minutes, unless you counted hitting and flicking them, or running through them crazily....I know I always said I wanted an active, full on boy, but I can seriously see the benefits of a quiet, introverted, book worm type now!!

All I needed was one cute photo of him with the tulips for nanny. (she requested) Daddy even tried to help and eventually we got one of him smelling some pink ones for her - it was the best we were going get anyway.

As the typical boy that he is, he was way more interested in the helicopter that was there giving joyrides and even as we walked all the way around, he just kept watching them, wherever we went he would stand there mesmerized.

And just when I was about to give, I finally snapped a smiley photo, not exactly amongst the tulips, but I think nanny will love it anyway.

There was a jazz band playing, so while Nath went off to battle the queues, Bodie and I sat down to listen. This was one of those times I was really glad we took the video camera (Ken I got footage of him dancing and even trying to sing a long with them. Will send it to you soon.) He looked so adorable and funny, I couldn't stop laughing, most of the people around us were laughing too, which I think kept him going. They were pretty good too.

Last weekend we took Bo on Puffing Billy and he loved it, we knew he would, he is obsessed with 'toot-toots'. So will be back soon with more photo's.

Big hugs from us.

The treasure of a normal day

I sometimes think my favourite days with Bodie are just the normal, average days, filled with trains, cars, balls and bikes, cupcake cooking and bubble baths. I love these days spent with my gorgeous boy.

Bodie is loving these warmer sunny spring days, I think he's just happy because he's not rugged up like a mini michellin man.

My favourite photo right now is this one... still super cute, even with tomato sauce all over his chin.

The next two are my cheeky son running around the back yard laughing at his silly mummy who thought when she gave him a wipe and told him to clean his face - he actually would!! ...... he did eventually, after he cleaned the lemon tree, the grass and his swing =O)

Just had to share this one -love his long eyelashes

The best part of helping mummy cook.

Have heaps more to share, so will be back soon.

Bye xx

Two Little Bundles of Love

I have always dreamed of having twins and I seriously fell in love with these two little boys, but then how could I not, they were such happy, contented babies....and not to mention totally adorable!

Now I don't know about you, but the word twins, springs images of tired, bedraggled, sleep deprived, stressed out, exhausted parents to mind - but not this mummy and daddy!! Katie and Jorge are so lovely and there home just felt calm and peaceful from the moment you entered it. Katie is a Yoga teacher which probably explains why she is so relaxed and how after only 11 weeks she looks absolutely fantastic.

Daddy joined us as we were finishing up, and you could see from the way his face lit up as he entered the room he adores his boys.
Jorge also happens to be a very talented photographer...and didn't that make me nervous when I found out....crazy I know ;P

Anyway here are some of my favourites from the shoot.

How gorgeous is this family!! Loved photographing them and had a fantastic afternoon, enjoyed some cuddles with the boys, some mummy talk with Katie and even some photography talk with Jorge.

Then, when I came home, I took a peek at Jorge's website and fell in love with some images he had taken of some children from a refugee camp in East Timor. As I looked at them I had an overwhelming desire to wrap my arms around them and hug them close. I love photo's that make me feel something. To me taking a photo is about more than just capturing a 'perfect' picture, its about capturing a thought, a feeling, an emotion, it's about telling someones story, their life, their struggles, their joys. It's about capturing what is real, and real is so much more interesting than 'perfect'.

Hope you all have an imperfectly interesting weekend!

Love T xx

From Dream To Reality

There's a saying 'do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life'

If this is true then I am going to enjoy 'not working' from now on!
Photography is something I really love doing and with some encouragement (ok, maybe a bit more than some), have decided to take the plunge and put myself out there. What up until now has only been a dream, is rapidly becoming a reality. It's exciting and scarey all at the same time.

I have to say a massive 'Thank You' to Danielle for all the amazing help she has given me. I absolutely love the logo design (this woman is seriously so unbelievably talented, to watch her in action just blows my mind) and if it hadn't been for her I think I would have gone more than just a little crazy this last week. She has come to my rescue more than a few times and saved me from countless hours of frustration with my computer....not my favourite thing!

I'd love for you to check out the new blog and let me know what you think.

This blog will continue as my personal one for family and friends, where I can update you on Bodie and whatever happens to be going on in our lives.

Will leave you with a photo from the shoot I did with the twins, Rafael and Elijah, this photo is my absolute favourite, it is of Elijah and every time I look at it, it just melts my heart.

Will share more from the twins shoot soon.

Bye xx

Felt Fun

I have finally finished making the little felt notebooks for the kids, for the assembly this weekend. I was starting to think I was going to run out of time, but by midnight last night I was all done. Here's some pic's...

A butterfly for Alannah

A dinosaur for Jude

A sweet deer for Sienna...with a matching hair clip.

Toadstools for Ash

A T-Rex dinosaur for Cody

A cat for Michael - I made it to look like his cat Basil, who is a birman and just beautiful, naughty but beautiful.

A ladybug for Cassandra

And for my friend Fiona (a grown up, not a kid) who loves Lions - I couldn't resist making this one for her.

...and a couple of almost finished ones, that I am making for no reason - just playing.

...and two little hats which were my first attempt at sewing in 20yrs. They were my trial ones - now I want to make a few white ones like Danielle has been making for Cedar, I love them and they are so cute, only mine will just be for photography props....

Talking about photography.... I'll be back soon with some very exciting news to share!
